KINE 482 - Sport Sponsorship

The purpose of KINE 482 is to examine the application of basic principles of sponsorship to the managed sport industry, including the areas of professional and amateur sports, corporate sponsorship strategies, and cause related activities. The function of the course is to provide students with an up-to-date understanding of sponsorship concepts as they are currently being applied in various sport management contexts.

After completing this course, the student should be able to: define key sponsorship concepts and strategies as they apply to a broad sport context such as professional/college/high school sport settings, corporate fitness, and youth sport organizations/camps; access and interpret relevant primary and secondary data sources essential to understanding consumers of sport events, which is an essential component of sponsorship proposals; understand key consumer behavior concepts and their implications for sport sponsorship; and prepare and critically evaluate a comprehensive sponsorship proposal.
